Some students from Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School were informed last week in a letter on school letterhead that they would have to take summer school.

Potomac Confidential fills the midday lull with discussion by Metro columnist Marc Fisher who looks at the latest news with a rigorous slicing and dicing of the issues that define who we are and where we live.

Van Hollen (D-Dist. 8) of Kensington established the program to recognize graduating students in area high schools for their contributions to their school and?or to their community. Each school in Maryland?s Eighth Congressional District was invited to select a student.

The colleges sponsor finalists in the 2008 National Merit Scholarship Program who plan to attend their institution. Another group will be announced July 14.
